--New feature of "Z-240 Type 3"/"D-2000 Type 3"--
- The new "Z-240 Type 3"/"D-2000 Type 3" is equipped with new generation high-intensity 3W LED as built-in Focus Light. This brighter Focus Light is usable as independent diving light as well as aiming/supplemental light of shooting with shutter-linked auto OFF feature to prevent exposure of the Focus Light on an image.
- "S-TTL" auto to acquire correct exposure by simply pressing shutter release button.
- T-shape Twin Flash to provide 100°×100°circular beam angle without diffuser.
Other fundamental and unique features like;
is same as existing model (*2). New "Z-240 Type 3"/"D-2000 Type 3" now supports wide variety of your diving life beyond underwater shooting.
(*1)
The new strobes have derived name "Type 3" and product names remain same.
--Sanyo "eneloop" rechargeable battery--
- From "Type 3" strobes, Sanyo "eneloop"(HR-3UTG) is ONLY compatible Ni-MH rechargeable battery. Other older generation Ni-MH rechargeable battery or high capacity Ni-MH battery has drawbacks like;
- high self-discharge characteristic makes hard to use optimum battery capacity
- easy to get over discharging which could cause sudden performance degradation
- "Z-240 Type 3"/"D-2000 Type 3" [Safety Precautions]
- "Z-240 Type 3" [Compatible battery, operational limitation on flashing/Focus Light]
- D-2000 Type 3" [Compatible battery, operational limitation on flashing/Focus Light]
Above mentioned disadvantages can have excessive heat during charging/discharging which could damage inner electrical circuit of newly designed "Z-240 Type 3"/"D-2000 Type 3". Next generation Ni-MH battery; Sanyo "eneloop"(HR-3UTG) has cleared up those drawbacks generating less heat during charging/discharging enabling safe operation of "Z-240 Type 3"/"D-2000 Type 3" within operational instruction and limitation(*2).
(*2)
The new "Z-240 Type 3"/"D-2000 Type 3" requires strict limitations on ["continuous mode" of the Focus Light] and "repeated flashes"/"total number of flashes" Improper operation beyond limitations may directly cause excessive heat or degradation on Focus Light unit, flashlight emitting parts or inner electrical circuit of newly designed "Z-240 Type 3"/"D-2000 Type 3" equipped with LED Focus Light.
Please make sure to read through supplied user manual/documentations before using "Z-240 Type 3"/"D-2000 Type 3" to ensure proper and safety operation. Following link page explains limitations, compatible battery and general safety precautions.

Normally "Optical D Slave Cable II" is not necessary to set up multiple external strobe configuration since camera/camera system and each strobe is directly connected by [Optical D Cable Connection].
When using particular camera/camera system or strobe type configured with [Z-240"Type 3"]/[D-2000"Type 3"], master strobe and camera/camera system is connected with [Optical D Cable Connection]/[Electrical Cable Connection]. In this case, the master strobe and slave strobe is connected by [Optical D Slave Cable Connection] and needs "Optical D Slave Cable II".
[Optical D Slave Cable Connection] x 1
Existing "Optical D Slave Cable" for "Optical D Slave Cable Connection" between "Z-240 Type 2"/"D-2000 Type 2" (master strobe) and INON strobe, is NOT usable for multiple strobe configuration using "Z-240 Type 3"/"D-2000 Type 3" as master strobe causing improper flashing operation on slave strobe. Please refer to user manuals of "Z-240 Type 3"/"D-2000 Type 3" for detail of connection method to set up multiple strobe system with different camera/camera system or Inon strobes.
(*5)
The master strobe Focus Light will not trigger slave strobe's Focus Light/Target Laser.
(*6)
Flash operation only in synch with master strobe's flashing.
(*7)
The master strobe Focus Light will not turn OFF slave strobe's Focus Light/Focus LED.
(*8)
The slave strobe's Focus Light is not usable. The master strobe's Focus Light will not trigger slave strobe's Target Laser.
